Program Outline

Each course offering will vary as we select program activities to suit course topics and strive to incorporate special events in the Newport community. Programs can be designed for any duration. A typical program includes:

Welcome reception and dinner
Program Introduction

Program Sessions
7:30 - 9:00: Breakfast
9:00 - 12:00: Area instructors share their expertise in one of our expanding series of programs, developed in conjunction with Newport's most prestigious cultural and recreational organizations. In addition to course content, participants enjoy the camaraderie of their learning fellows and an insider's view of related activities of interest in the Newport community. Many of our programs are designed to meet outdoors in order to enjoy the natural beauty of Aquidneck Island.
12:00 - 1:00: Lunch will be provided on-site, or packed to go.
1:00 - 4:00: Your learning adventure continues with related activities designed to expand and enrich your knowledge of the subject area. Those who wish may pursue optional afternoon activities, such as sailing, tennis, swimming at area beaches, shopping along Bellevue Avenue or the historic waterfront, touring Newport Mansions, the Cliff Walk or other historic sites.
Evenings: Participants will enjoy a sunset cruise on Narragansett Bay, a traditional New England Lobster Dinner, access to Newport's finest restaurants, and optional excursions to dance, music, and other cultural events.

Farewell
7:30 - 9:00: Breakfast and program conclusion.
